SMS Terms & Conditions

1. Program Description

Gyre Research sends transactional SMS messages to Authorized Users of the Gyre Research Platform. These messages are limited to:

1. Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): One-time verification codes for account login and security verification.
2. Account Alerts: Notifications related to your account status, including password resets, security alerts, and access notifications.
3. Platform Notifications: Operational alerts such as system status updates, scheduled maintenance notices, and data processing confirmations.

Gyre Research does not send marketing, promotional, or advertising messages via SMS. All SMS messages are strictly transactional in nature.

2. Opt-In and Consent

By providing your mobile phone number during account registration or in your Platform account settings, and by enabling SMS notifications, you expressly consent to receive transactional SMS messages from Gyre Research at the number you provide.

Consent is not a condition of purchase or use of the Platform. You may use the Platform without enabling SMS notifications; alternative notification methods (email) are available for all alerts.

3. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your account activity. Typical usage includes:

1. 2FA codes: One message per login attempt when two-factor authentication is enabled.
2. Account alerts: Occasional, triggered only by specific account events (e.g., password change, new device login).
3. Platform notifications: Infrequent, limited to material operational events.

You will not receive more than 10 messages per day under normal circumstances.

4. Opt-Out (STOP)

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by:

1. Replying STOP: Text STOP to (617) 579-8052. You will receive a single confirmation message and no further SMS messages.
2. Platform Settings: Disable SMS notifications in your account settings within the Platform control panel.
3. Contacting Us: Email [email protected] or call (800) 933-4731 to request removal.

After opting out, you may re-enable SMS notifications at any time through your Platform account settings.

Note: If you opt out of SMS and have 2FA enabled, you will need to use an alternative authentication method (e.g., authenticator app, email) to access your account.

5. HELP

For assistance, text HELP to (617) 579-8052. You will receive a message with:

1. A brief description of the SMS program.
2. Customer support contact information: [email protected] / (800) 933-4731.
3. Instructions for opting out (reply STOP).

6. Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Gyre Research does not charge for SMS messages, but your mobile carrier may charge standard messaging and data fees. Consult your mobile plan for details. Gyre Research is not responsible for any charges imposed by your carrier.

7. Supported Carriers

SMS messages are supported on all major US carriers, including but not limited to AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and US Cellular. Carrier support may vary. Gyre Research is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages due to carrier issues.

8. Privacy

Your mobile phone number and SMS-related data are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Specifically:

1. Your phone number is collected solely for the purpose of delivering transactional SMS messages.
2. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Your phone number is shared only with our SMS service provider (Twilio) for the purpose of message delivery.
4. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
5. SMS opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party.

9. Content Standards

Gyre Research SMS messages are strictly transactional and will never contain:

1. Marketing, promotional, or advertising content.
2. Content related to sex, hate, alcohol, firearms, or tobacco (SHAFT compliance).
3. Links to content prohibited under CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices.
4. Requests for sensitive personal information (passwords, Social Security numbers, credit card numbers).

If you receive an SMS claiming to be from Gyre Research that contains any of the above, do not respond and report it immediately to [email protected].

10. Disclaimer

SMS messaging is provided "as is." Gyre Research makes no warranty that SMS messages will be delivered without interruption, error, or delay. SMS should not be relied upon as the sole method of receiving time-sensitive security alerts. We recommend enabling email notifications as a backup channel.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-Platform notification. Continued receipt of SMS messages after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
